Privacy Policy

1. Overview
Baka-Bot ("the bot", "we", "us") is committed to transparency about the data it handles. This Privacy Policy explains what information Baka-Bot collects, why it collects it, how it is used, and how long it is retained. By adding Baka-Bot to your Discord server, you acknowledge this policy.
Baka-Bot operates within Discord and is subject to Discord's own Privacy Policy in addition to this one.
2. Data we collect and store
Baka-Bot collects only the data necessary to perform its moderation functions. No data is sold or shared with third parties.

Baka-Bot does not collect: email addresses, IP addresses, passwords, payment information, or any data outside of what Discord's API makes available during normal bot operation.
3. Message content
Baka-Bot reads message content solely to detect repeated spam. The content of flagged messages is stored temporarily in memory as part of active message history (see retention above). When a kick action occurs, a short snippet of the spam message (up to 200 characters) is written to the moderation log and retained as part of the kick record.
Baka-Bot does not read, store, or process the content of ordinary messages that do not reach the spam threshold.
4. How we use your data
All collected data is used exclusively to operate Baka-Bot's moderation features:
- Detecting and acting on spam in real time
- Issuing pre-kick warnings to users approaching the threshold
- Automatically kicking users who cross the configured limit
- Deleting spam messages on kick
- Providing moderation logs for server administrators
- Operational health monitoring via hourly reports
We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or any purpose unrelated to bot operation.
5. Data sharing
We do not sell, trade, or share your data with any third parties. Data may only be disclosed if required by law or in response to a valid legal process.
Baka-Bot uses Discord's API to function. Any data visible to the bot through Discord's API is governed in part by Discord's own privacy practices.
6. Your rights
As a server administrator or user, you have the following rights:
- Access — You may request a summary of data Baka-Bot holds about your server or user account.
- Deletion — You may request deletion of stored data. Removing the bot from your server stops all further data collection; server configuration and log data can be cleared on request.
- Correction — Server administrators can adjust or reset active moderation records using
/resetviolationsand/cleanup.

7. Security
We take reasonable steps to protect the data Baka-Bot handles, including restricting access to the bot's host and keeping dependencies up to date. No system is completely secure and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. Children's privacy
Baka-Bot does not knowingly collect data from individuals under the age of 13, in line with Discord's minimum age requirement. If you believe a minor's data has been collected, contact us for removal.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, the effective date at the top of this page will be updated. Continued use of Baka-Bot after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
